BAMBARA LITERACY PROJECT
The Bambara Literacy Project proposes to construct a Bible-content Primer by November 2011 for more than 10 million speakers in Mali, Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Gambia, Mauritania and Senegal. THE PRIMER CONSTRUCTION FOR THE MENDE & THEMNE BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 8, 2010
The primer construction work for the Mende and Themne languages has begun. This was the dream Rev. Gregory Bangura had as soon as he took over as West Africa Director for Literacy & Evangelism International. The primer construction is taking place in Bo, Sierra Leone.

Gregory Bangura, LEI West Africa director made a brief stop over in Accra, Ghana to encourage LEI missionaries in that nation. Lietarcy & Evangelism International-Ghana has been officially registered and can now work freely as a Christian organization recognized by the government of Ghana.

LEI EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR MET BIBLE SOCIETY NATIONAL DIRECTOR
Rev. Sid Rice met the national director for Bible Society in Ivory Coast yesterday. Sid was accompanied to Bible Society by LEI West Africa director, Rev. Gregory Bangura. LEI and Bible Society are to partner to construct primers and train literacy teachers.
LEI Executive director, Rev. Sid Rice visited yesterday the head of the Protestant Churches in Ivory Coast, Bishop Paul Ayoh. The two Christian leaders held fruitful conversation.
LEI Executive director, Rev. Sid Rice is visiting Africa in this month. He will be in Ivory Coast on 20 May to speak in the graduation of the International Literacy Training Institute on 23 May. Before the graduation, Sid will meet Church leaders and other dignitaries. From Ivory Coast, he will fly to Accra, Ghana to hold talks with the Minister of Education. He will then continue to Kenya and South Africa.
Gregory & Agnes Bangura took over as West Africa directors for Literacy & Evangelism International July 2008. The Banguras attended the International Literacy Training Institute in 2006 and 2007 respectively. They are also the founders and presidents of Rabboni Missions International. They are based in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire.
